Figueretas is situated on the SE coast of Ibiza, extending from ½ to 1 ml due S of Ibiza Town centre (3 mls from the international airport). It is separated from Ibiza Town on the coast by a rock some 200 ft above sea level. The resort is on a steep incline at the N end, which lessens towards the S, where it becomes almost flat. The entire area is built around a semicircular bay.
Figueretas is essentially an extension of Ibiza Town, and measures a compact ¼ ml by ¾ ml. It is chiefly a purpose-built holiday resort of mainly high-rise hotels and apartments, it has little charm or historical interest, though its proximity to Ibiza Town makes it a good base to explore the wide choice of lively entertainments there.
It's also a beach resort, and has an attractive palm-fringed promenade running around the bay, which, from early evening until late, has little market stalls with artisans selling hand-made trinkets.
