The Airport is located five miles west of downtown Tampa, in Hillsborough County, on the west coast of Florida, is situated between West Hillsborough Avenue 580, the Veterans Expwy. 589, and Route 616, and offers direct connection to the W Courtney Campbell auseway to Clewater, to the I-275 south to St. Petersburgh & Bradenton, to I-175 north connecting to I-4 West to Orlando and continuing north to I-75. and is accessible via Interstate 275 & State Road 60.
With three runways and an estimated 16.8 million passengers in 2012, Tampa International Airport is served by major domestic and international airlines offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe.
AirTran/Southwest now offers flights into Key West & to San Juan, Puerto Rico. American Airlines operates service to Havana and to Holguin (on Cuba's east side); ABC charters will provide free bus transport to Bayamo & Las Tunas, one hour away. Silver Airways offers flights to Jacksonville, Edelweiss airlines to Zurich, & Sun Country to Minneapolis. Spirit offers seasonal (November-April) service to Chicago O'Hare.
